Get involved - Help us keep this unique site open

The Creek and the natural habitat it supports is for everyone to enjoy.

We can only achieve this with your help.  You can show your support in many ways and help ensure that Deptford Creek and the surrounding habitats remain supported for future generations to enjoy.

We aim to inspire more people to better appreciate the natural habitats on their doorstep to create better environments for people and wildlife.

Help us as a corporate supporter, or with a regular donation - or bring your team here for venue hire or a bespoke workshop or tour

Corporate Workdays

Bring your team to Creekside Discovery Centre for a unique day out of the office!

An example team workday at Creekside Discovery Centre looks like this:

10.00-12.30 - Conservation task: This can be cutting back, raking meadows or other vegetation, digging up areas or footpath and fencing work.

12.30-13.30 - Lunch: The group is responsible for paying for the lunch. We can organise from a selection of excellent local caterers.

13.30-15.30 - Low Tide Walk: Experience Deptford Creek, a unique wild urban landscape. This tour is led by one of our expert conservationists, and involves pulling on waders and walking along the river at low tide.

Your team will enjoy working together in the natural environment, which supports health and wellbeing, all whilst helping our charity. At Creekside you will experience a unique organisation working to support people and wildlife, and a better future for all. Your team's support will help us to maintain and extend our impact.

FAQs

What size group can we bring?

We can host between 6 and 20 people on each Workday

Is your building accessible?

Our building and grounds are step free. There is an accessible toilet. Our site is wheelchair accessible but you will need some assistance on rough surfaces outside. We are fundraising to improve these. We regret that Deptford Creek itself is not safely wheelchair accessible but we will aim to give you the best experience possible from land, including views of the river from the bridge and possible exploration of the pond area.

What is the cost of a corporate workday?

We charge £600 for a workday. This covers our planning and staffing costs, any materials needed on the day and a small donation to the running of our charity.

Can we hire a room to host a meeting?

We have a large meeting room that you can hire before or after the workday.

Is there parking at the Centre?

It is recommended that all our visitors use public transport as we have no parking on site. For accessibility needs parking can be made available by prior agreement only so please contact us directly to discuss this. There is free parking on nearby Frankham Street. Local rail and DLR stations are Greenwich and Deptford are there are several local bus routes to Creek Road and Deptford Church Street.

Volunteer with Creekside

Volunteering is a key part of what we do. We aim to provide opportunities for people to connect with nature and work as part of a lively and enthusiastic team. Volunteers are essential for us to achieve our aims of conservation and education. If you are interested in practical outdoor work, interacting with and assisting others to learn about the natural environment, whilst gaining new knowledge and skills, then we have opportunities for you!
