Herbarium Workshop

Tuesday, 6th August  18:00 - 20:00   

Herbaria have been used since the 18th century to record and study plants.  The expertise gained in preserving plants in this way is important both for taxonomy and conservation.  'Conservation depends on recording, which depends on correct identification, which may in turn depend on collecting' (A Chater, Fieldwork for Atlas 2020)

Wildflower Survey - Sue Godfrey Nature Park

Wednesday, 7th August,  10:00 - 12:00 

Throughout 2024 we have been working to improve habitat features on Sue Godfrey Local Nature Reserve. Join us to study the impact of our work as we survey the scrapes created around the park. Our Conservationist, Andy, will guide you through the park, explaining how to identify certain plants and sharing more information about them.

Deptford Creek Bird Survey

Sunday, 11th August,  10:30 - 12:30 

Join us as we survey the birdlife of the Creek. We will meet at Creekside Discovery Centre and then start surveying at the southern end of the Creek from land and make our way north to where the Creek meets the Thames.

Calling all parents and carers of curious little ones! We will be hosting sessions dedicated to those under 5. The activities are designed to foster a connection with nature through crafts and storytelling. We believe in the power of hands-on exploration and creativity. From bug hunting and pond dipping, children will have the opportunity to understand the living things surrounding us. Our experienced facilitator, Julia, will guide and inspire your children, encouraging them to express their creativity and develop an appreciation for the environment.
