July 15th, 1pm-4pm

A workshop for 10-16 year olds, hosted by CityGirlinNature

Join Kwesia (a.k.a CityGirlinNature) at Creekside to learn more about exploring nature and the wellbeing benefits of spending time in wild spaces around us.

Kwesia will speak about her journey as an young environmentalist and how she shares this love of nature with others. Participants will learn skills to help them connect with nature and as a group we will explore Creekside and a local nature park. We will collect plant specimens and preserve them using the Japanese art of Tataki-Zomé - sometimes known as Hapa Zome or simply 'plant bashing'! Through this fun and creative activity young people will create something which they can take with them as a memory of a day spent in nature.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided for all participants.

This project is part of our Urban Jungle series - events exploring the challenges and opportunities of nature conservation in an urban environment. Participants can choose to display their work at Creekside for our Open Day event on Saturday 22nd July, after which they can take them home with them.

Location: Creekside Discovery Centre, 14 Creekside, SE8 4SA.

Cost - This is a free event

Suitable for - 10-16 year olds

We will provide all resources and equipment.
