When you walk on lawns you're walking on wildlife. Lawns are everywhere, yet few people realise they are among the most diverse habitats in inner London.
 
Depending on weather March is a good month for plants in lawns. Many more come into flower, Lesser Celandines usually peak as do Sweet Violets and many other species are building up getting ready for peak flowering in April. 
 
Join us for the second in a new series of guided walks exploring the wildlife found in lawns, as these overlooked habitats begin to prepare for spring.

What to expect

 

  • A relaxed, guided walk focusing on urban lawn biodiversity

  • Learn how to spot and identify plants and other wildlife in everyday green spaces

  • Explore how climate change and changing pollution levels are shaping urban ecosystems

  • No prior knowledge needed - just curiosity and comfortable footwear

 

This walk is suitable for adults and interested young people, and encourages noticing the nature we usually walk straight past.
