A 1-day summer activity for 11-16 year olds! Complete a British Science Association CREST Award and learn more about wildlife and STEM.

Expand your understanding of science at school and find out more about how science and engineering work in real life.

If you are aged 11 to 16 and are interested in science, nature, engineering, and problem-solving then this is your chance to discuss how some of the problems we face right here in Deptford link to global issues. Explore the relationship between engineering and environmental protection and learn how the environment can be protected by scientists and engineers.

STEM Activity Day includes:

  • A low tide walk in Deptford Creek, to recognise the issues that the wildlife around us face
  • Group work to come up with your 'Sustainable Solution' to a local issue
  • Presentations of your project at the end of the day
  • An opportunity to reflect on your project and your contribution to the group

We would like everyone to be able attend our activities and do not want the cost to be a barrier. If you can afford to pay the full price please do. If you are a local resident and would find it difficult to pay the full price, please email us at paddy@creeksidecentre.org.uk and we will send you a local resident discount code.

Time and Location: 10.30-16.00 at Creekside Discovery Centre, 14 Creekside, SE8 4SA. You will need to arrange drop-off/collection from the site.

Accredited British Science Association CREST certificiates can only be ordered upon completion of this activity. Certficates will be available to collect from Creekside Discovery Centre approximately 3-4 weeks after the session. For any further questions contact paddy@creeksidecentre.org.uk
