Saturday, February 3rd - 11:00 - 13:00

Join us as we explore trees in winter and how we can identify them. For example, Hazel has come into flower this month and, in the sunshine, looks like golden candelabra, but have you ever noticed the tiny crimson female flowers?

We will meet at Creekside Discovery Centre and then walk to Sue Godfrey Nature Park and St. Paul's Churchyard to look at the different ways of identifying trees, such as tree shape, branches, how and where buds form, catkins and bark.

This walk is suitable for all ages - an adult must accompany young people. Dress appropriately for the weather conditions and some walking on grass, which may be wet or muddy. There will be access to toilets at the beginning of the walk. Please feel free to bring a snack and drink if you wish.
