Creekside Annual Open Day 2025 - Saturday 13th September 2025

We're excited to announce that we will be opening the gates for our Annual Open Day on Saturday, 13th of September!
This is your best chance to experience the full variety of wildlife experiences and activities we offer here at Creekside, and to meet the whole team of staff, volunteers and trustees whilst you enjoy an afternoon immersed in urban wildlife. Mark your calendars and book your tickets, as it's an event not to be missed!
Most of all, we hope you join us on the day and connect with the wonder of Creekside's urban wildlife!
Our events starts at 11am and activities will include:
- River dipping, ages 5+ (11.00-13.00)
- Wildflower Hour, all ages (11.00-12.00)
- Bug Hunting, all ages (12.00-13.30)
- Crab racing, all ages (13.30-14.00)
- Wildflower & Conservation Walk, aimed at adults (14.00-14.45)
- Pond Dipping, 3+ (14.00-15.00)
- Badge making and crafts, all ages (11.00-15.00)
- Tadpole zone, ages 0-5 (11.00-15.00)
- Slimewatch, all ages (11.00-15.00)
- Deptford Ragged School craft activity, all ages (11.00-15.00) - Discover the living archive and the lives of people in Deptford past, and make 'Everlasting' paper flowers to take home
- Lost & Found panel discussion, older children and adults (12.00-13.00) - Engage with participants of this exciting project to unearth London's untold river stories, hearing from young trainees and others who were involved
- Love Over Gold mural artists meet & greet, all ages (11.00-15.00) - Explore plans for a new Creekside mural, and share your creative ideas with the artists behind the project
The Creekside tuck shop will have light refreshments on sale but we'll also have our fabulous local partner, Spring Café from Cockpit Studios, joining us and providing a delicious lunch treats offer.
On the day you'll be able get up close and personal with wild plants and animals sharing Creekside with us - on land and in the river! The event will be packed full of guided and self-led activities, including river dipping, pond dipping and bug hunting, to name just a few. There will be lots to entertain young ones and grown-ups alike. And for those interested in learning about how we are conserving and enhancing the local environment, join our guided wildflower walk where you'll also learn about our exciting wildlife and community projects.
