November 27th 10:30am - 12:30pm

Join us on the hunt for wildlife in the wilderhood of Creekside. Even in hard urban environments like streets, footways, walls, and the small fragments of habitat adjacent to them, wildlife makes a living.

This is a chance to find and get to know the wildlife that lives where we live and the changes that are happening. For instance, Rue-Leaved Saxifrage has returned as a wild plant this century, it travelled in using railway lines and then spread on to the streets and other bare habitats. Or Little Egret which has become a common sight in Deptford Creek and Brookmill Park this century during the summer months.

We will be recording in a 2km square area around Deptford Creek - divided into smaller squares so we can see where species are living now and compare that with what we know of the situation at the turn of the millennium. Come along on a walk to find out more.

Meet at the main entrance to Deptford Bridge DLR Station, Deptford Bridge SE8 4HP at 10:30am (What3words ///blame.deal.driver)

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring your own refreshments.

This project is funded by Tideway.
