You’d never believe what we find in Deptford Creek... Walk through a wild river, discover the rich and varied history of the area and experience diverse urban wildlife up close...
Our hugely popular, monthly public low tide walks give you a different perspective of London and urban wildlife. Led by our conservationist with 30 years experience, we guarantee you some good, clean, muddy fun! Expeditions last about two hours and advance booking is essential to secure a place.
Participants need to be over 9 years old and reasonably fit as you will be walking on the bed of a wild river. We provide waders, a waterproof and a walking stick and suggest you wear old clothes.
Children** [9-16]: £8.00
As an independent environmental charity we subsidise all community activities. If you are able to pay the standard adult charge of £12 this would help our charity, however if unable please chose the seniors charge.
**Note Concerning Children Our public low tide walks are physically challenging activities in a wild environment and are not suitable for children under 9 years. They may also not be suitable for children who meet the age requirements but are below average height or have specific additional needs. We aim to be as inclusive as possible whilst keeping all participants safe. Please call us if you have any questions about suitability for your children before booking. We require a minimum of 1 adult with 3 children. For child or family specific activities please see our Holiday Activities.
We accept bookings for up to 6 people per booking for Public Low Tide Walks.
We can arrange private walks for groups (up to 30 people).
