Slimewatch algae investigation! Join algae enthusiast and artist Susi to explore this incredible microscopic world!

In this special family event we will take a closer look at the green life growing on the mud banks of Deptford Creek. There will be lots of fun facts and stories for young people about all the living things in this unique habitat, and their connections with the green slime all around us! 

This event will involve:

  • A short walk in Deptford Creek focusing on the mud banks and algae
  • Collecting and preparing algae sample from the Creek
  • Analysing these samples under the microscope
  • Observing and study previous samples and follow our research to date
  • Model your own algae to take home with you using clay

Suitable for - everyone aged 8+, all young people must be accompanied by an adult

We will provide all resources and equipment.
