We can tailor sessions for every age of student, ranging from nursery to degree level.
Our current offer includes:
Years 2 to 4
Plants and animals and their habitats
The Centre is a great place to study ecology: on this site we can contrast Creek, pond and terrestrial habitat all on the same site. We can cover habitats, food chains, and adaptations.
QCA Science Unit 2B
QCA Science Unit 4B
Years 5 and 6
Rivers and the water cycle
We are able to offer a low tide river walk (or a land-based walk if tidal conditions are not suitable). Other activities may include: field sketching, measuring flow rates, collecting and observing Creek animals, 'River of Life' floor-based interactive game, map studies, or building a sewage plant in plastic bottle.
QCA Geography Unit 11
QCA Geography Unit 14
Secondary
We are able to offer a low tide river walk (or a land-based walk if tidal conditions are not suitable). We can run a range of geography and science fieldwork activities. The site also lends itself to specialist ecology sessions, and to wider curriculum areas such as citizenship.
