Creekside is a new Education Centre on Deptford Creek. We offer an exciting range of activities for all ages.
A tidal tributary of the Thames, Deptford Creek is one of London's hidden green gems. The Creek is a haven for hundreds of fresh and saltwater plants and animals. One of London's most historic waterways, where the past flows into the present.
One of our main attractions is our unique Creek access. Almost a mile of stony river bottom appears as the tide falls each day, giving you an unmatched opportunity for adventure and education not found anywhere else in London.

NewsSummer FunIn the last two weeks of July and throughout August we are offering local youth groups the chance to take part in our environmentally themed youth activity programme here at Creekside Centre in Deptford. Check out our flier for the full list of activities we will be running. The Creekside Education Trust has an exciting vacancyTo promote and run a range of environmental play activities at Creekside Education Centre aimed at Lewisham Youth Groups and working with young people aged between 9 -19 years. Interviews Tuesday July 8th in the evening 6pm onwards at the Creekside Centre. Other NewsWe are pleased to welcome Kate Coss who has started volunteering at the Creekside Centre. She has produced a list of all the species in flower in February and we intend to continue this for every month from now on; February 2008 Flowers List. Thanks to the marvellous design work of Paul Prestidge and other helpers we now have a new leaflet a pdf version can be downloaded here. Walks have been fully subscribed so far this year. On Sunday March 16th persistent rain raised the level of the river to such an extent that it was too dangerous to go in. We did a local walk instead down to the mouth of the Creek then taking in the famous ferns of St Nicks and wildflowers at Sue Godfrey Nature Park. We currently have a display up at Deptford Library where we are pleased to be working with the library staff who have been extremely helpful |
